The area surrounding Waldachtal-Salzstetten is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. The historic town of Dornstetten is just six kilometres away. In Horb, located on the upper Neckar River, more than 900 years of history can be felt throughout the town. About twenty kilometres away lies Freudenstadt, the unofficial capital of the region. At 731 metres above sea level, it is home to Germany's largest market square. Other worthwhile excursion destinations include Hohenzollern Castle (approx. 50 km), Outletcity Metzingen (approx. 65 km), Baden-Baden (approx. 70 km) and Strasbourg, France (approx. 85 km).
