Mariánské Lázně is primarily known for its healing mineral springs. More than 100 healing springs rise in the vicinity of the town, 40 of which are located directly in the town. A unique feature of the springs is that, although they are sometimes only a few hundred metres apart, they have very different chemical compositions. In addition to the picturesque parks, historic colonnades and charming pavilions, the Singing Fountain is one of the town's special attractions. The Bečov Castle, that makes for an excellent day trip, and Burg, a national cultural monument, build a unique ensemble of valuable architecture. Loket Castle near Karlovy Vary, also known as the Elbow, not only offers a picturesque view of the surrounding area, but was also the filming location for the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royal with Daniel Craig, and is well worth a visit.
