In summer and winter, the Ahorn Waldhotel Altenberg and its surroundings are a good place for attractive and varied leisure activities. In Altenberg itself, the 1000-metre long, very attractive summer toboggan run is a real crowd-pleaser. In summer and winter, a covered wagon or horse-drawn sleigh ride is highly recommended. Discover places of interest such as Lauenstein Castle, the snake world of Altenberg or the Galgenteiche, two reservoirs with a high sport and fun content. Technically and culturally interesting are the Meißner Glockenspiel in Bärenfels or the Mining Museum Altenberg.
